when we are no longer able to change a situation, we must change ourselves.

where expertise meets empathy

Carolyn Charest brings close to 15 years of experience as a Registered Psychologist, having worked with individuals, couples, families, and groups across Vancouver, Calgary, and Fort McMurray in both private and public sector settings. Her public sector clinical experience includes working with Capital Health, AADAC, and Alberta Health Services, while her private sector work spans employee assistance providers such as Morneau Shepell and Homewood Health, clinics owned by other clinicians, and practices developed and led by Carolyn herself. Over the course of her career, Carolyn has worked with approximately 2,500 individual clients and conducted around 10,000 sessions, developing a depth and breadth of clinical insight that informs every aspect of her practice.

Clients are encouraged to bring their whole story. Carolyn offers a non-judgmental, grounded presence that allows clients to speak openly and honestly about even the most complex or sensitive concerns. Having worked across a wide range of presenting issues, populations, and practice settings, very little falls outside the scope of what she has encountered professionally, and that breadth of experience translates into a therapeutic relationship where clients can feel genuinely safe, heard, and understood from the very first session.

Carolyn holds specialized experience working with eating disorders, addictions, and domestic violence, as well as expertise in single-session therapy, an evidence-based approach that maximizes the impact of every session regardless of the length of the therapeutic relationship. Drawing on CBT, ACT, DBT, and solution-focused approaches, sessions are thoughtfully tailored to each client's unique circumstances, goals, and pace.

At Wellflow, counselling is grounded in confidentiality, empathy, and authentic partnership. Clients are supported not only in addressing immediate concerns, but in developing the resilience, clarity, and self-awareness that sustain lasting psychological health and fulfillment in work and life.
