A leader’s job is not to do the work for others, it’s to help others to figure out how to do it themselves.

executive coaching informed by psychology, human resources and real world leadership

Executive coaching at Wellflow is psychologically informed and evidence based. It is designed for professionals who want to perform well at work without sacrificing their wellbeing, relationships, or sense of self.

For clients in British Columbia and Alberta, executive coaching is provided as a psychological service by a Registered Psychologist. Sessions begin with a clinical intake, focus on psychological factors such as stress, anxiety, confidence, and burnout as they show up in leadership roles, and are documented in a clinical record. Wellflow's psychologist is registered only in BC and Alberta, so clients elsewhere in Canada and the US receive coaching under the ethical standards and core competencies of the International Coaching Federation, without formal assessment or treatment of mental health concerns. If clinical concerns come up, the client will be referred to a licensed mental health provider in their jurisdiction.

ICF coaching follows a client led process. The coach asks questions, listens closely, and offers a nonjudgmental space that both challenges and supports, while the client defines their own goals and the path toward them.

The approach also draws on solution focused practice, which Insoo Kim Berg and Steve de Shazer developed as solution focused brief therapy and Peter Szabó later adapted for coaching. It directs attention toward what is already working, what the client wants more of, and the small, practical steps that build momentum.

The result is coaching that is collaborative, purposeful, and tailored to each client's goals.
