Bring your whole story

Carolyn Charest is a Registered Psychologist with almost 15 years of experience working with individuals, couples, families, and groups in Vancouver, Calgary, and Fort McMurray. Her public sector work includes Capital Health, AADAC, and Alberta Health Services. In the private sector, she has worked with employee assistance providers including Morneau Shepell (now TELUS Health) and Homewood Health, in clinics owned by other clinicians, and in her own practices. Over that time, she has worked with hundreds of clients.

Clients are welcome to bring their whole story, including the parts that feel complicated or hard to say out loud. Carolyn offers a nonjudgmental, grounded presence and the steadiness that comes from years of hearing a wide range of concerns.

Her clinical experience includes eating disorders, addictions, and domestic violence, and she is trained in single session therapy, an evidence based approach designed to make each session useful on its own, however many sessions a client attends. She draws on cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), dialectical behaviour therapy (DBT), and solution focused approaches, tailoring sessions to each client's circumstances, goals, and pace. She is also a specialized mental health provider for people living with Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes through Breakthrough T1D Canada.

Counselling at Wellflow is grounded in confidentiality, empathy, and collaboration. Sessions address immediate concerns while building skills for resilience, clarity, and self awareness that clients can keep using in work and life.
